I don’t know what it’s like where you live, but at the moment I’m sitting under roughly a foot of snow. That’s a slightly annoying amount, but after the way everyone around here and in the media was freaking out over the last few days, it seems like a coating. Anyway, what better way to […]

In an effort to get my readers to learn a little something about something other than baseball cards, which is after all, a little children’s pursuit and a colossal waste of time, I present to you this Bonus Fact of the Week. This week I thought I’d switch things up a little in honor of […]

You know the story. You’re at Target and/or Walmart running errands and happen by the card aisle. Of course you can’t just walk by without just popping your head in to see what’s that haps. Then your pocket starts to heating up and before you know it, there’s a hole burning in that pocket. It’s […]

On we trudge with my attempt to post some cards that I recently picked up. Or at least when I started these posts it was recent. Now not so much. Anyway, here’s some more 60’s Topps cards. I don’t know what it is, but Cardinals cards from the 1967 set look really awesome to me. […]

A while back, Greg at the always excellent Night Owl Cards had posted a certain card of a certain Dodger from a certain 1960 Topps baseball card set that happened to be not only a card that I needed, but one that I had especially wanted for quite a while. In said post, he mentioned that […]

In case you’ve been living under a rock, the Cardinals staged a pretty damn dramatic comeback last night against the Rangers to force the 2011 Fall Classic to go a full 7 games. The action was highlighted by a 2-out, bottom of the 9th triple by David Freese to drive in the tying runs and […]

As mostly everyone knows, Game 6 of the World Series was postponed last night was preemptively called due to a rainy forecast. At least that’s what Major League Baseball would have you believe. In actuality it was because I was torn on whether to show the 1973 Game 6 card that I showed yesterday, or […]

Did you realize that it’s been 9 years since the World Series went the full 7 games? Personally, although I do want the Rangers to win it, I’m slightly rooting for the Cards tonight just to push the Series to its limit. Then again, I’d rather just see the Rangers win.

… this is shaping up to be a pretty damn good World Series. Watching this guy stymie Pujols and the gang the night after putting up a million runs was pretty damn awesome. On to Game 5.

Yesterday, I was talking about how I was pretty surprised that given all the big sluggers in both the Cardinals and Rangers lineups the first 2 games of the World Series were relatively low scoring affairs. I further went on to hypothesize that perhaps playing the next few games in Texas would remedy that. Well […]
