On The First Day of Christmas…
December 14th, 2012 by slangon
For the third year in a row, I’m highlighting some of my favorite cardboard acquisitions from the past 366 days (2012 was a Leap Year, after all). If I lived in an other part of the world, I might start this series on Christmas Day and run it straight through January 5th, a period known as Chistmastide. The 12 Days of Christmas was traditionally a festive period that began on either Christmas Day or Boxing Day (December 26, known as Boxing Day because of the tradition of giving Christmas boxes to service workers, such as postmen and tradespeople) and running through to the Eve of the Epiphany. In the States, as with many things, marketing and media has basically retuned the 12 Days of Christmas to be the period leading up to the Big Day in order to whip the masses into a shopping frenzy.
With that said, on the First Day of Christmas my collection gave to me…

What a fantastic card. The subject, the pose, the nicked corners. Beautiful.
