Mets Through the Years: The All-Star(s), 1989
July 10th, 2012 by slangon

1988 was a bit of another last hoorah for the Mets. Following their unsuccessful run to return to the World Series that year, they began to slowly dismantle the team. They still sent 2 guys to the ASG in 1989, though.

Darryl continued his impressive All-Star run with his 6th appearance at the Mid-Summer Classic. For the first time, however, he did not get the start. As a matter of fact, he did not get into the game, period.

This guy, on the other hand, did get the start at third base. He went 1 for 3 with an RBI single. He was also on the back end of a double steal. This was Hojo’s first All-Star appearance.
