All Hail Dickey
June 14th, 2012 by slangon

Last night, R.A. Dickey pitched a gem of a game for the Mets. He threw a complete game, struck out 12, walked none, only gave up one unearned run and only allowed one hit. In the process, he became the first pitcher in the Majors to hit double digit wins and he set a new Mets franchise record for scoreless inning streak at 32 2/3. He broke the Mets previous record of 31 2/3 innings set by Jerry Koosman in 1973. He is currently tied for the league lead in wins, 3rd in ERA and 4th in strikeouts.

As exciting and entertaining the team has been this year as a whole, I definitely get extra pumped every fifth start when I know R.A. is taking the hill.
