This Just In

The Mets organization has announced that as part of the celebration of the teams 50th season, they will be trying to match to win-loss record of the teams inaugural 1962 season.* Unfortunately, they have a little catching up to do. This years team stands at 4-11 whereas the record setting 1962 team was 3-12 after 15 games. The 2011 Mets will have to lose their next 5 games to get back on pace. I for one have faith in the Boys from Flushing that they can get it done.
Lets go Mets!
* Of course that’s not true. The Mets organization has made no attempt to recognize that this is the teams 50th season and they’re just doing bad because they stink. By the way, is that some sort of a record? Losing both ends of a double header twice in one week? Also by the way, I do think it’s pretty awesome that Ike Davis is card #85 in the 2011 Heritage set and card #85 in the original 1962 set was none other than Gil Hodges. I’d be pretty psyched about that if I were Ike.
