Some Sunday Afternoon Football… uh, Stuff?

No packs or cards today. I’ve been in the middle of trying to paint the exterior of my house while the weather is still conducive to painting so the only store I’ve made it to the last week or so has been Home Depot. Last time I checked, they don’t sell cards there.

Today, I’m going to highlight a package of things that I unexpectedly received in the mail a few months ago. It was a large manilla envelope, but I was not expecting anything that would be in an envelope that large. Initially I figured it was some sort of junk mail, but when I looked at the front I saw this in the upper left hand corner.

Hmm. What the hell could the Giants be sending me? (By the way, I always find it amusing when people refer to the football Giants as the Football Giants. It’s especially funny when they do it themselves.) I had sent a handful of custom cards to a few players ages ago, but I very much doubt that that’s what’s in here. Only one way to find out.

There was a neat-o sticker.

An 11″ x 8.5″ 2009 Team Photo. This will look pretty nice framed hanging next to my 2005 Mets team photo in my bar.

And finally an 8″ x 10″ photo of Eli Manning. Unlike the team photo, which was printed on cardboard, this is actually printed on photo paper. Again, it will look pretty nice framed hanging next to my autographed Keith Hernandez photograph in my bar.

I guess this whole package is what’s known as a Fan Pack. I’m guessing that they sent it to me because I had sent those custom cards. All in all, although I would have preferred an autographed custom card, but this stuff is all pretty cool. I wonder what they did with my cards though?
