The SlangKo Kustom Kard Gallery
December 10th, 2009 by slangon

As most anyone who reads the growing circle of sports card related blogs must know by now, Mario over at Wax Heaven has shut down his blog, which was one of the most popular, entertaining and informative in the blog-o-sphere. It certainly seems that his departure will create a huge hole in the world of card blogging, and Gellman at Sport Cards Uncensored has put forth the challenge to the rest of us bloggers to step up and try to pick up where Mario left off.

I am certainly up for the challenge, but being pretty new to this blogging thing, I’m not too sure how effective I personally would be in trying to fill that void. I mean, the type of blog that Wax Heaven was and the type of blog that I’m doing are  two totally different animals. Whereas Mario was an incredible source for new products and product reviews, I just finished busting a box from 6 years ago.

So I started to try and take a look at what I’ve done with this blog over the last few months, and try to see what parts of it people seemed to respond to the most. I’ve gotten a few comments here and there from people congratulating me for winning a cool card off of eBay, or getting a certain players autograph back through the mail, but by far the biggest reactions I’ve received thus far have come in response to different custom cards that I’ve done.

Having realized that, I figure that perhaps that is my best shot at making this little blog world of ours a better place.

In light of that, for your viewing pleasure, I give you The SlangKo Kustom Kard Gallery. This will be a repository for all the custom cards that I’ve done in the past as well as a final resting place for any that I might complete in the future. There is also a link to it in the sidebar, under Linkage. Check back often, as you never know what you’ll find.
