George Herman “Babe” Ruth (b. February 6, 1895, d. August 16, 1948), Baseball Player: Raised by Christian Brothers at the St. Mary’s Industrial School for Boys. On October 1, 1932, in the 5th inning of Game 3 of the 1932 World Series, he called the tie-breaking home run before hitting it.
