Mets Through the Years: The All-Star(s), 1981
July 10th, 2012 by slangon

Another year, another All-Star Game.

Joel Youngblood made his only All-Star appearance in 1981. He had pretty kick ass numbers too. He hit .350 on the year with a .398 OBP and slugged .531. Oh, wait. He did all that in only 161 plate appearances. How does a part-time player get named to the All-Star team? Oh, yeah. I forgot. The Mets were terrible. Youngblood pinch hit in the 2nd inning and flied out.
