Mets Through the Years: The All-Star(s), 1975
July 10th, 2012 by slangon

The Mets were represented by a pair of pitchers in the 1975 All-Star Game.

Jon Matlack made his second consecutive All-Star appearance en route to a 16-12 season. He pitched the 7th and 8th innings, allowing 2 hits while striking out 4. He also picked up the win thanks to some timely National League offense in the top of the 9th.

After not making the squad in 1974, Seaver was right back at it in ’75, making his 8th All-Star team. He did not have a great outing. He took the ball in the 6th with the National Leaguers leading 3-0. He proceeded to give up a 3 run homer to that old All-Star Game nemesis Carl Yastrzemski.
