Mets Through the Years: The All-Star(s), 1965
July 9th, 2012 by slangon

Steady Eddie Kranepool got the nod for the All-Star game in 1965, mostly because Ron Hunt was hurt. Although he finished the ’65 season with a .253 average, he was hitting .293 at the break, so I guess it does make a little sense. This would be his only All-Star appearance in his 18 year career.

Much like Richie Ashburn in 1962, Ed made the team but did not play.
