When I Was a Little Girl in Poland, We All Had Ponies.

A few days ago, I was posting some cards sent to me by Dayf as part of his Cards for Junk outreach program. I ended up droning on and on about all the Mets and managers and team cards he sent, so I ended up cutting it short. As I mentioned at the end of that post, there was one more very special card in that package.

Now I’m sure by now everyone knows about Dayf’s newly acquired love of drawing and his obsession with enjoyment of My Little Pony. Taking that into consideration and keeping in mind that the whole point of his Cards for Junk offer was to get blank cards to sketch on and further considering the title of this post, I think you know where this is leading.

Dayf sent me a pony.

But what kind of pony would an artistically inclined Atlanta Braves fan send to a Mets fan?

Why, just my favorite player of all time is all… in pony form.

This card is pure brilliance on his part. I love that fact that he chose to portray him in his role as an announcer rather than a player. I love the “PNY” microphone. I love the “Just for Colts” shilling. I appreciate that he used primarily Mets colors.

I’ve done a lot of custom cards for different folks during my time as a blogger, but it’s not too often that I get a custom card in return, especially one so cool. Thanks again, Dayf.
