We Wish You Well, Sparky
November 3rd, 2010 by slangon

I just read that one time Major Leaguer and Hall of Fame manager Sparky Anderson has been placed in hospice care in California due to complications resulting from dementia. That seems like a cruel fate for anyone, but especially someone who spent so many years using his mind to steer his team to victory.

I would say something trite like “Get Well Soon”, but I don’t think that’ll help. My sympathies and prayers are with you.

  1. This is sad news. When I was growing up… I rarely took the time to admire managers… but I loved Sparky, Bill (Martin), and Earl (Weaver).
